Willie, I stopped in hoping to speak to you in person about Matt’s fight this weekend. I just wanted to let you know that I do not have any way to change the decision. I did consider all options, and I do believe that Matt was poked in the eye, but since the ref didn’t see it and stopped the fight, it has to stand as a TKO loss for Matt.
I do think it was unintentional, which means even had the ref seen it, Matt could not have been given any time to recover (only in the case of a groin shot would he have up to 5 minutes).
Anyway, I wanted to apologize to you guys, it just sucks to lose in that fashion. I did speak with Victory Jay and I think he will be contacting you guys to set up a potential re-match with that guy for an upcoming Extreme Challenge.
Thanks again,
Brian

Thanks Brian. I appreciate you doing that but Matt needs to quit whining and accept it. It happens and he will learn to do better next time. I am curious as to Why you felt like there was an issue with it?
Thanks

As I said, I hate to see a guy lose a fight in that way. I mean a foul took place, I do believe it was unintentional, but it was still a foul. I know you guys didn’t complain, but I wanted you to know that I am paying attention to these things whether you guys complain or not. I think very highly of your gym and competitors from there and want to make sure you guys as coaches are aware of the reason behind decisions that affect your fighters.
If you ever do have a complaint please don’t hesitate to hit me up.
Thanks!
